A fresh set of extensions looks perfect on day one. How your nails look three weeks later depends on aftercare, refills and how the set is eventually removed. This guide covers the questions our nail technicians hear most often at our salon in France Cluster, International City.
Quick Answer
Book a refill about every three weeks while your set is well attached. Choose a new set if several nails have lifted or broken, and always book an in-salon removal instead of peeling extensions off.
Your natural nails keep growing underneath the extension, so a gap appears at the cuticle and the balance of the nail shifts towards the tip. A refill fills that gap, rebalances the shape and refreshes the colour. Most clients book a refill about every three weeks, depending on how fast their nails grow and how hard they are on their hands. Refill prices are confirmed at consultation because they depend on length and design.
Send us a photo of your nails on WhatsApp and we will tell you which one you need.
Peeling off acrylic, hard gel or gel polish pulls away layers of your natural nail with it, leaving nails thin, bendy and sore. Professional removal takes a little time, but it protects your nails. Gel polish removal is AED 40 for hands or feet.
Acrylic and hard-gel extensions start from AED 250, tip extensions with gel polish are AED 120, and builder gel (BIAB) is priced at consultation. For a full comparison, read our guide to Gelish vs BIAB vs Acrylic.
Usually yes, but it often means removing the old product first. Ask when you book so we can plan the time.
Message us with a photo as soon as possible so we can take a look.
There is no fixed rule. If your nails feel thin or sensitive after removal, a short break with a strengthening treatment can help.
