Beloved Beauty Salon Blog

If you have never had a professional facial, it is natural to wonder what happens, whether it hurts and how your skin will look afterwards. Here is what a facial looks like at our ladies-only salon in France Cluster, International City, so you can walk in relaxed.

Quick Answer

A facial starts with a short skin consultation, then cleansing, exfoliation, the main treatment (such as extractions, a mask and a face massage) and a protective finish. Facials start from AED 60.

Step 1: A Short Skin Consultation

Your therapist asks about your skin goals, such as a deep clean, a fresh glow or a more even-looking tone, and about your current skincare. Please mention any prescribed creams, active ingredients such as retinol or acids, allergies, recent treatments or sensitive skin. This helps us choose the right facial and products.

Step 2: Cleanse

Your skin is cleansed to remove makeup, sunscreen and the day’s build-up, so the next steps can work on clean skin.

Step 3: Exfoliate and Prepare

Depending on the facial, your therapist gently exfoliates to lift dull surface skin, and may use steam to soften the skin before extractions.

Step 4: The Main Treatment

This is the part that changes from facial to facial. It may include extractions for blocked pores, a mask chosen for your skin goal, and a relaxing face, neck and shoulder massage.

Step 5: Finish and Protect

Your facial ends with a suitable moisturiser and, during the day, sun protection. Your therapist will tell you how to look after your skin for the next few days.

Which Facial Should I Choose?

  • Quick clean-up (AED 60): a short refresh between full facials.
  • Fruit or herbal facial (AED 100): a gentle, refreshing choice for a first facial.
  • Brightening or de-tan facial (AED 200): for dull-looking skin after sun exposure.
  • HydraFacial (from AED 120 for Express): read our HydraFacial vs facial guide.

Not sure? Tell us your skin goal on WhatsApp and we will suggest one.

After Your Facial

Your skin may look slightly pink for a short while, which is normal for many skin types. For the rest of the day, avoid makeup, saunas and strong active products, and use sunscreen. Most clients book a facial about once a month.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does a facial hurt?

Most of a facial feels relaxing. Extractions can feel a little uncomfortable; tell your therapist and she will adjust.

Can I have a facial if I have sensitive skin?

Often yes, with suitable products. Tell us about your skin when you book. For a skin condition under medical care, please check with your doctor first.

Can I wear makeup afterwards?

It is best to wait until the next day.
